Control and coordination

Note- Stimuli is the technique for how to respond and react to the changes in the environment.
Response of organisms to the stimulus is generally identified by movement.

This is the image of sensitive plant named as mimosa pudica.....

Sunflower

Sunflower is also a major sensitive plant. Sunflower is turning it's position in the direction of sun by this reason sunflower is know as sunflower.
Look at the image of sunflower

Sunflower--

NOTE- The plants do not have any nervous system.

Plants harmones...

There are four major types of plant hormones name as
  1. Auxins.
  2. Gibberellins.
  3. Cytokinins.
  4. Abscisic acid.

Biology notes chapter 1 life processes

                  Life processes

Q1. What is ingestion?
Ans. Ingestion is the process of taking food in our body for energy. It is simply called as eating of food.

Q2. What is digestion?
Ans. Digestion is the process in which the food particles which contains any large, insoluble and unbreakable particles are broken down into small particles .

Q3. Define absorption.
Ans. Absorption is the process in which the digested food passes through the intestinal wall into blood is called absorption.

Q4. What is assimilation?
Ans. Assimilation is the process in which the absorbed food is taken in by body cells and used for energy.

Q5. Define egestion.
Ans. Egestion is the process in which the undigested food is remove from the body.

Biology notes 1 chapter life process

                   Life process

Living things-Those things which are alive are called living things.

Q1. What is the criteria to observe something is alive?
Ans- The most common criteria to identify something is alive or living is movement. All the living things are moving by themselves not by any external force.

*NOTE. Plants are also a living thing but Thier movement is observed with difficulty.

Non-living things-those things which are not alive . Non living things cannot move by themselves without any external force provided.
Example- chair,bed,fan,box.

Q2. What is life processes?
Ans- The common function performed by all the living organisms are known as life processes. Like- transport and excretion, control and coordination, growth, movement and reproduction.

Q3. What is the common energy source of living organisms?
Ans-Food is the most common energy source of living organisms.

Glucose-glucose is the simplest food and it is is also called simple sugar.

Starch- starch is made from glucose and starch is also known as carbohydrate.

                           Nutrition

Nutrition is the process of intake of nutrients [like carbohydrates, fats, protein, minerals, vitamins and water] by an organisms.

                    Modes of nutrition

1. Autotrophic.
2. Heterotrophic.

Autotrophic mode of nutrition
-Autotrophic is a mode of nutrition in which an organisms synthesis it's own food from the simple inorganic materials.

*NOTE- The autotrophic organisms contains the green pigment called chlorophyll which is green in colour.

Q4. What are autotrophs?
Ans- The organisms which make their own food by carbon dioxide and water are called autotrophs.

 Heterotrophic mode of nutrition

-Heterotrophic is the mode of nutrition in which the organisms cannot make their own food by simple inorganic materials, and depends on other organisms for their food.

*NOTE- All the animals have heterotrophic mode of nutrition.

Types of heterotrophic nutrition

1. Saprotrophic nutrition.
2. Parasitic nutrition.
3. Holozoic nutrition.

Saprotrophic nutrition- Saprotrophic are the nutrition in which the organisms take their food by decaying matter of dead plant , dead animals.

Parasitic nutrition- Parasitic are the nutrition in which an organisms derives its food from the body of another organisms.
Example-Roundworm

Holozoic nutrition- Holozoic is the nutrition in which the organisms take their complex organic food by the process of ingestion.

Q5. What is photosynthesis?
Ans- Photosynthesis is the process by which the plants make their own food from carbon dioxide and water in the present of ⛅ sunlight

Carbon dioxide+water+light energy  = glucose + oxygen

Condition necessary for photosynthesis
1. Sunlight
2. Chlorophyll
3. Carbon dioxide
4. Water

Q6. How the plants obtain water for photosynthesis?
Ans- the plants take water for photosynthesis by their roots which is present under the ground.

Division of animals by their eating habits
1. Herbivorous
2. Carnivorous
3. Omnivorous

1. Herbivorous- The animals which eat only plants and they depend only on plants are called herbivorous.

2. Carnivorous- The animals which eat only other animals flesh or meat are known as carnivorous.

3. Omivorous- The animals which eat both plants and animals are known as omnivorous.

Water resources

Water is present at a great amount in the whole world . Three fourth of the resources are covered with water . Water can be a renewable resource if it is use properly and by nature friendly way . We have to use less water in a particular day . We can live without food be a several weeks but without water we cannot live a couple of days.

Water is a best type of resource which is present in our earth and this is very very important and necessary for the survival of all the living organisms. Water is used in all the types of food to make it prepare .

Some uses of water are

  1. Water is a common drinking resource
  2. Water is used for washing the clothes.
  3. Water is used for washing the utensils.
Water is essential for the growth of plants fast.

The chemical formulae of water is H2O.

For making of water two mole of hydrogen and one mole of oxygen is required.

              If you can care water

              Water can care you
